\nIn 1966, he began collaborating with the newly established AIRC<\/strong> (Italian Association for Cancer Research), first as Vice President in 1967, and later as President from 1976.
\nIn 1979, he promoted the establishment of the Italian Foundation for Cancer Research (FIRC<\/strong>), created to safeguard AIRC\u2019s assets and ensure its long-term mission.
\nVenosta remained actively involved with AIRC for 32 years, stepping down from the presidency of both organizations in 1996 and continuing as Honorary President until his death in 1998.<\/p>\n
\nHis greatest strengths were his managerial acumen\u2014developed over 38 years at Pirelli Spa, from 1939 to 1977\u2014and his entrepreneurial mindset, which he applied to the world of philanthropy. He believed that solidarity should be organized strategically, capable of generating substantial and sustained funding, not only to support major research projects but also to guarantee a steady flow of resources for scientific advancement.<\/p>\n
