The project brings together a number of local organisations and institutions, including Cooperativa Minotauro, lead partner of the initiative, CSV Monza–Lecco–Sondrio, Spazio Aperto Servizi and Le Comunità della Salute.

Launched in 2024, Happy. diventare capaci was structured around a process of listening to adolescents, parents and practitioners, who were supported in expressing their needs and expectations. The insights gathered informed the design of the first year’s activities.

In particular, young people expressed a strong desire to experience “alternative” contexts and spaces beyond the traditional school environment: places where they could engage in growth-oriented experiences that activate responsibility, skills and a sense of personal efficacy; spaces in which to “be in the world”, test themselves and discover their own capabilities. There also emerged a need for adults able to welcome fragility and difficulty without judgement. At the same time, adults described a sense of vulnerability in their role, often challenged by the complexity of accompanying adolescents through their development.

Activities delivered in 2025

In response to the needs identified, a range of workshop-based experiences were launched for adolescents in Sovico, Seregno and Milan.

In Seregno and Sovico, 126 young people aged between 12 and 18 took part overall. Participants were involved in Active Citizenship workshops promoted by CSV Monza–Lecco–Sondrio, in collaboration with the associations Firefit, Primo Soccorso Seregno and Casa della Carità di Seregno, as well as in the action-and-movement laboratory “The Relational and Affective Body”, delivered by Minotauro in partnership with ASD Basket Seregno and CSV MLS.

In Milan, Spazio Aperto Servizi engaged a total of 95 adolescents from the G. Galilei – R. Luxemburg secondary school: 59 attended a weekly after-school programme and 36 took part in arts and radio workshops. Across all activities, the adolescent remained at the centre, with opportunities designed to help them discover themselves as capable, competent, responsible and creative individuals.

Engaging parents and the educational community

Parents were involved through a workshop on parental skills and roles, delivered by Minotauro, and were invited to attend the conference held on 22 November 2025 at Liceo Parini in Seregno, entitled From Fragility to Capability: “Happy”, a New Perspective for Adolescents.

During the event, Dr Caprotti, President of the Guido Venosta Foundation, and Dr Alessia Lanzi, psychotherapist and President of Cooperativa Minotauro, placed psychological wellbeing and adolescence at the heart of the discussion, addressing both the challenges and the emerging opportunities of contemporary adolescence and raising awareness among adults of their role in supporting young people’s growth.

Actions planned for 2026

In 2026, new workshop pathways will be launched by Minotauro, Spazio Aperto Servizi and CSV Monza–Lecco–Sondrio, in collaboration with local associations. These initiatives will continue to focus on the creativity, responsibility and skills of young people, within a framework of participation and active citizenship.

Alongside the active citizenship and experiential activities across the three territories, a further edition of the physical experimentation laboratory is planned, in partnership with Atletica Sovico and CSV MLS.

Additional interventions led by Minotauro are also being introduced: a psychological support service for adolescents; a new edition of the online programme supporting the parental role; an online advisory desk for lower and upper secondary school teachers; and a second training programme for staff and volunteers from local associations, delivered by CSV MLS.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We are pleased to share the article published on the Minotauro website.
