Objectives and activities carried out, in summary
A humanitarian mission was launched in response to Pope Francis’s appeal to support six Brazilian hospitals in their fight against the Coronavirus epidemic. This was the largest Italian humanitarian aid operation to Brazil, enabling the purchase and donation of 18 intensive care stations—equipped with 18 high-tech ventilators—as well as 6 portable ultrasound machines for the diagnosis and treatment of Covid-19. The operation, valued at over €1 million, was carried out thanks to Hope Onlus and the Fondazione Guido Venosta of Giuseppe Caprotti, with medical support from the Policlinico di Milano.
