Support for the “Entra in Biblioteca con un click” Project by the Società Storica Lombarda
Objectives and activities carried out, in summary
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Guido Venosta Foundation, which funded the entire project, the Società Storica Lombarda was able to resume the “Enter the Library with One Click” initiative, aimed at high school students as part of the PCTO (Paths for Transversal Skills and Guidance).
Two schools were involved—the Manzoni Classical High School and the Parini Classical High School—with approximately forty students participating in the initiative. The young participants acquired solid knowledge on how to interpret historical events through the use of books, maps, manuscripts, and prints, and learned how to consult online databases to search for texts available in national libraries and discover the stories of early printers.
Finally, the students will present the results of their research on Lombard and Milanese history, developed thanks to their new knowledge and enhanced skills in utilizing primary sources.
“Enter the Library with One Click” has proven to be an exceptionally effective cultural tool in sparking students’ interest in historical studies, which is why the project is held in high regard by the entire Società Storica Lombarda.
