Giuseppe Caprotti – Guido Venosta Foundation, The New Commitment: the “Triennale” of Milan and Young People
Guido Venosta Foundation’s mission also includes nourishing the mind and spirit, which are as fundamental as health and solidarity in creating genuine, shared well-being for both the individual and society. In particular, educating young minds through involvement in far-reaching projects that spark interest and enthusiasm is one of its primary goals.
This is why the first of these initiatives has taken up the mantle of the ‘Ri-Abitiamo Milano’ idea, launched by Amici della Triennale. Under the invaluable and energetic guidance of Elena Tettamanti, the project engaged 25,000 students from more than 200 Milanese high schools across various disciplines in rethinking the spaces of their city. Their work responded to the principles underlying the ‘Fridays for Future’ movement and the sustainable development goals set for 2030.
The project aimed to inspire the students to transform their reflections into concrete proposals to make Milan a more sustainable city. It was truly inspiring to see the students work with such determination and commitment, each tackling the challenge of revitalizing entire neighborhoods or abandoned areas in ways that best suited their individual talents. Their proposals were evaluated by a jury, and after a careful selection process, the project culminated in an awards ceremony for the three winning projects, held in a Triennale filled with light and joy.
